During her masters degree program with Hollins University and while in Germany, Amara sent me a message stating that she had been visited.  I said "By who?" and she responded with a lengthy story about the restless spirit of late Cuban born artist, Ana Mendieta.  Amara explained that Ana's was 'stuck' between our physical world and the spiritual plane preventing Ana's spirit to rest and that she had been called upon to create a ritual that would free Ana.  And so my journey began with Amara to create costumes and visual set art that would support the freeing of a fellow artist in the spirit world.
